Curious about tarot cards, chakra and reiki healing, crystals, and more? Mystival Philippines’ “Magick Makers Market & Mystics Festival” offered a space for enthusiasts at the University of the Philippines-Diliman’s Balay Kalinaw on Sept. 23. The boutique fair sported a line-up of artists and shops that catered to both beginner and veteran mystics.

Balay Kalinaw’s rustic charm proved to be the perfect venue for the event. Upon entrance, a grand, wooden staircase greeted guests and led them to the booth hall filled to the brim with various goods—from cakes, to candles, to accessories. The pleasant smell of incense also wafted around the room, courtesy of local candle-makers showcasing their products.

Although the main room where different stalls sold their items wasn’t the biggest, it was enough to accommodate a diverse selection of different items. Notable items for sale included candles, tarot and oracle cards, books on all-things spiritual, and crystals in various forms such as their raw versions, accessories, and even small teddy bears.

While cards were being flipped and coffee was being brewed, raffle winners for pre-registered participants were also announced. Apart from tarot readings, attendees could also listen to different talks and learn about chakra healing and alignment.

Offers of healing and meditation

If one desired to clear their mind or ease their aches, several guests offered healing services in various ways, such as meditation and music.

For example, the Light Seers space—the main selling space of the market—had services of cartomancy, defined as fortune-telling using a deck of cards. These included oracle reading, akashic records, and angelic guidances.

There was also a service focused on Theta Healing, which aimed to provide practitioners with added knowledge on emotional energy and natural intuition by aligning their brain waves to the theta pattern.

Overall, Mystival Philippines provided a space where people learned and connected because of their interest in all-things mystical.
