Are you ready to open your doors again?

By Marguerite Marie Ferrer, and Joshua Lazaro | Thursday, 17 February 2022

In a torrential downpour, I wallowed in solitude

from the answers that indelibly knotted my heart.

When my ego whispered to close the curtains,

I was blinded by the sweet reveries clouding me

while they plead for reconsideration.

But their silent appeals can no longer fool me

from the twisted cords I once fought.

Counted the tiles of the room I stepped onto

while debating with my scruples if I let them in.

Gentle pitter patters of the rain used to echo throughout my room—

a cold breeze lingering brushing past my skin.

Frosted glass window panes blocking my vision,

keeping the view away from my sight.

Yet, today not a drop could be heard from outside

the heavy winds that used to blow heavily suddenly died.

Soon my feet found themselves inching towards the door

waiting to finally see what’s outside.
