Among a hundred entries, Benildeans from the Architecture and Interior Design programs stood out in the 2021 Asia Young Designer Awards (AYDA) awarding ceremony on Feb. 11, which was live streamed on their official Facebook page.
Since 2008, the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award has been pursuing a goal to further inspire both interior design and architecture students to apply innovation in their field of design.
Driven by the theme “Forward: Amplifying Empathy through Design” and the goal of creating structures and spaces for support, each of the participants submitted their entries for the chance to represent the country in the forthcoming AYDA Regional Summit in Vietnam.
The designs were also posted on the page, tracking the amount of reactions garnered for the People’s Choice Awards. Other awards included the Best Colour Choice Award and Best Green Innovation Award for both interior design and architecture categories.
Participants who won received ₱5,000, while the Best College/University Award received ₱10,000.
