The Benilde Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced the 13 newly-elected A.Y. 2021-2022 Central Student Government (CSG) and School Student Government (SSG) officers from the three-day online election proper on their Facebook page on Oct. 29. Only one out of six CSG positions was occupied.
During the online election proper from Oct. 25 to 27, 199, 56, 646, 157, and 233 students from SMIT, SDEAS, SDA, SDG, and SHRIM, respectively, practiced their right to suffrage.
From the totalled 1,291 votes of the Benildean student body, independent candidates took the lead, securing nine out of 13 positions. ADLAW Political Party representatives acquired four positions, with two of them dominating the college presidential positions.
The 2021 student elections pushed through amidst the vacancy of some of the major positions in CSG and SSG. Out of the six CSG Executive Board positions, only one was occupied. The remaining 12 positions secured represented the SSG.
