With the upcoming INTERAKTIV, freshmen and transferees can immerse themselves in the Benildean culture—all while developing a fun-filled group dynamic with their batchmates. Through various online platforms such as Zoom meetings and Facebook Livestream, as well as offline modules, this year’s INTERAKTIV 1.0’s continues to keep its legacy alive, with its official website running until December 2021.
In an interview with The Benildean, Glian Piolo Ilagan, ID 119 Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (CDA) student and INTERAKTIV Project Head, shared that the INTERAKTIV family already started planning for the event in March in order to “give the ID 121 the warmest welcome they deserve.”
Through several months of preparing with Student Trainers (STRAINS) organizers, administrators from different Benilde offices, volunteer orientors, hosts, models, and Benildean athletes一Ilagan believes that INTERAKTIV 1.0 is no less than a celebration of new beginnings. It serves as “an avenue for volunteers to help them adjust to college life, share our culture in Benilde, and prepare them for their extraordinary journey,” Ilagan shared.
Ilagan also advises frosh to watch out for a concept video prepared by STRAINS, which will feature various personalities, talents, skills, capabilities and, qualities of an extraordinary Benildean through #BenildeYan.
Ready your cards
Yearly organized by STRAINS, under the Center for Student Life-Student Involvement Unit (CSL-SIU), the theme for the upcoming Academic Year will be “GamePlay.”
Inspired by classic card and board games, this INTERAKTIV aims to help each player connect and overcome the struggles they may encounter as new Benildeans. Aside from sharing a brief background about the College, the said event will also serve as a platform for socialization and foundation of camaraderie by manifesting their own identity as a Benildean-Lasallian about to embark on a new journey.
“INTERAKTIV is a glimpse of all the opportunities that await our frosh, and an encouragement for them to step out of their comfort zones and reach their full potential,” Ilagan added.
More excitement will be experienced as Benilde’s very own homegrown talents get to share the spotlight. Don’t miss the College’s resident chorale group Coro San Benildo as they serenade audiences with their extraordinary vocals and harmonies, resident dance company Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company’s Hip-hop and Contemporary as they flare up the event with their electrifying performances, resident theater company Dulaang Filipino, and resident visual arts team Karilyo as they showcase a spectacular shadowplay.

This year’s INTERAKTIV is expected to have the same number as last year’s 2,000 participants. Get a glimpse of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), its innovative course programs, and other important information that any Benildean should know. The orientation serves as the main ‘game’ setting, with a myriad of activities to participate in.

Don’t be afraid to unleash your full potential because you are gifted and extraordinary in your own way. We can’t wait to see you share your gifts of talents [with] us.”
