NCAA 96: Diaz and Alpuerto notch second and fourth in women’s speed kicking lightweight division


Lady Blazers Rocio Cortez Diaz and Katrina Cierka Alpuerto bagged second and fourth places respectively in the lightweight division of women’s speed kicking earlier today, July 4.

Lady Blazers Rocio Cortez Diaz and Katrina Cierka Alpuerto of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde secured second and fourth place in women’s speed kicking lightweight division earlier today, July 4, on GMA’s GTV network.

 

Despite being bested by division champion Pauline Gaye Rey of Arellano University (AU) with 6.508 points, 18-year-old rookie Rocio Cortez Diaz still managed to place second with 6.433, just .075 points behind Rey. Lady Chief Francis Claire Apuya also managed to secure her place in the top three with 6.250 points. 

 

Behind Apuya, Lady Blazer Katrina Cierka Alpuerto finished fourth with 6.067, followed by Kristine Antoniette Kiamco of San Beda University (SBU) with 5.925. Princess Lyka Tordillos of San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) placed sixth with 5.600, while Lady Chief Mylene Bangcoyo placed last with 4.575.

 

The Blazers will continue the action tomorrow, July 5, on GMA’s GTV network.
