Among other student short film entries chosen for this year's film festival, "Paano Maging Babae" bagged the "Best Student Short Film" award in the 46th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal last Dec. 27 via livestream in the MMFF's official Facebook page.
Written and directed by Digital Filmmaking student Gian Arre, the short film is about how a woman stands up against prejudices and stereotypes versus women.
Other nominees for the category included University of Makati's "Balikbayan" and Far Eastern University High School's "Laruan Baril.”
"Paano Maging Babae" is the opening short film for Antoinette Jadaone's "Fan Girl," which reigned the most awards during the night such as Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Actress in a Leading Role, won by Human Resource Management alumna Charlie Dizon.
Other Benildean student short films were also chosen to be a part of this year’s film festival namely, “ABaKaDa,” “Sala, Salin-Laway,” and “Sina Alexa, Xander At Ang Universe.” The short film can be watched online through Upstream.
