Attention, bookworms! The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival (PRWF) returns on Aug. 14 to 16 at the National Book Store Building in Araneta City, Cubao.
Whether your story begins with a novel or a comic book, this three-day festival has every page covered, with this year's event being organized not only by National Book Store but also in partnership with Komikon!
Page-turning perks
The event will feature book talks and panel discussions, where featured writers spill the ink on all things literature—from writing and illustration, to storytelling, Filipino myths, and even important social issues like bullying awareness. Beyond these talks, attendees can also take part in hands-on workshops led by industry professionals, offering aspiring writers, artists, and readers a chance to sharpen their skills.

A crossover bound for greatness
Another highlight of this year's festival is its collaboration with Komikon, the organization best known for spotlighting Filipino comics and independent creators. Unlike previous years, when traditional literature was the primary focus, this year's celebration will feature a dedicated “Komiks” area where independent creators can showcase their self-published works, art prints, and custom merchandise directly alongside traditional literature. This partnership allows PRWF to expand beyond prose and poetry, embracing visual narratives and graphic storytelling as well.
