Calling all bookworms and literary enthusiasts! One of the biggest book events of the year will be returning this Sept. 9 to 13 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

In its 47th year, the Manila International Book Festival (MIBF) will open its doors to a diverse selection of exhibits from both local and international publishers. Much like previous years, the fair welcomes readers from all walks of life. Whether you’re a student, a writer, an educator, or a literature enthusiast, the event promises an engaging experience that will ignite your passion for both reading and collecting books.

What’s new? 

For those who want to try their hand in creativity, the fair will highlight MIBF Komiks Strip, its first-ever weekend komiks market for Filipino Komikeros and micro-presses. It will be held from Sept. 12 to 13, with a limit of 10 slots for interested applicants. The event will be held at Function Room 1 at the SMX Convention Center. 

In addition to books and comics, this year’s MIBF will also host School World 2026, a co-located event for non-book educational products. This promises a variety of supplementary learning materials for learners and educators. This event will feature an array of digital learning technologies, teaching aids, e-learning platforms, and many more. This spot is bound to be a useful stop for both classroom and home-study setups.

What to expect? 

Like previous years, MIBF will feature a lineup of meet-and-greets, book signings, book launches, panel discussions, and exciting workshops and activities that may become your next core memory. Not much is known yet about the finalized list of authors and publishers attending this year, so be sure to check out their official social media pages, mark your calendars, and set aside your budget for your book haul this 2026!
