De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) defended its “School of the Year” title for the third consecutive time, taking home a total of 68 awards in the 11th Philippine Student Quill Awards on Aug. 27 at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel with the theme, “Advancing Intelligence with Business Communication.”
The event started off with the announcement of Merit Award and Excellence Award recipients for the Student Quill category. DLS-CSB’s 66 distinctions featured entries from the Culture and Arts Unit (CAU) and Student Publications Unit’s (SPU) two organizations, namely the Benildean Press Corps (BPC), the official student-journalists’ organization of the College, and Ad Astra, the sole organization responsible for producing Benilde’s official yearbook.

Meanwhile, in the 21st Philippine Quill Awards segment, the College received a Professional Merit Award in Publication for “The Benilde Book,” which talks about the 35th anniversary of Benilde.
BPC was then awarded the Student Top Award for Communication skills for its entry, "Setting the bar high: Cloanne Mondoñedo got it when she least expected it.” Other BPC entries, such as “Shades of Gray: Crossroads” and “Self-care or self-sabotage? Diving into the perpetual loop of sudden purchases” were nominated for the same award.
Before the night concluded, DLS-CSB received the highly anticipated "School of the Year" award after winning 41 Merit Awards and 25 Excellence Awards. The University of Santo Tomas placed 1st runner-up for School of the Year, followed by CIIT College of Arts and Technology, which earned the 2nd place runner-up.
The Philippine Quill Awards is the country's premier business communication awards program, and has bestowed its seal of approval upon the most reputable organizations and corporations in the country.
Both the Philippine Quill and the Philippine Student Quill Awards recognize outstanding communication research, programs, skills, and creative work.
