The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Golf Team will be participating in the 2025 Philippine Intercollegiate Golf Team Event alongside eight other schools on Feb. 23, Mar. 2, and Mar. 9 at the Royal Northwoods Golf Club in San Rafael, Bulacan.

The 2025 Philippine Intercollegiate Golf Team Event, presented by the Philippine Golf Foundation in partnership with Cignal TV, aims to welcome a new era of Philippine collegiate golf. The tournament will adopt the Stableford Team Format where the men’s team is composed of four players and the three best scores will be added to the team’s overall score. In the women’s division, there are three players in each team and the two best scores will count towards the team’s total score.

The Benilde Golf Team will be facing off against the University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, University of the Cordilleras, Arellano University-School of Law, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, Mapua University, and Ateneo de Manila University.

As the De La Salle University Golf Team remains determined to defend their crown, the other collegiate teams are on a quest to prove themselves on the golf course.

ID123 BSBA-BM student Sean Granada serves as Benilde Golf’s co-captain alongside Amiel Tanjuakio. In an exclusive interview with The Benildean, Granada shared the journey of the team and their preparation for the upcoming tournament.

The Benilde Golf Team has been preparing for this tournament since last year’s Philippine Intercollegiate Golf Team Event. When asked about his expectations about the upcoming event, Granada shared, “We know this event won’t be easy, with many schools and great players competing. However, my expectation for the team is to perform better this year and hopefully win an award.

The captain emphasized that, “It won’t be easy, but I trust my team’s potential and skills. We got this!”

As a newly established team, the team had difficulty scheduling team practices. However, Granada proudly shared that patience and focus helped them overcome it, “We used these problems as motivation to work harder, adjust our approach, and learn from each experience.

He also shared a message to the Benildean community, “We would love to ask for your support in our upcoming tournament, where we will be competing against some of the top schools in the Philippines. Your support will boost our confidence and mean so much to us.”
