#NCAASeason100: SBRDC-HH shines as 1st runner-up in inaugural Street Dance Competition


The Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company-Hiphop set the dance floor on fire, placing second in the first ever NCAA Street Dance Competition.

The Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company-Hiphop (SBRDC-HH) made their mark in the first Street Dance Competition hosted by the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in #NCAA100, by earning a first runner-up finish on Dec. 12 at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

 

Blazing the trail, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s (DLS-CSB) SBRDC-HH hit the dance floor first and set a high bar for the competition. The dance troupe showed everyone a flawless and electrifying performance, solidifying Taft Avenue’s street dance supremacy with every move and groove.

 

The Jose Rizal University (JRU) Dance Troupe clinched a third place finish with a score of 89%. Meanwhile, SBRDC-HH claimed the silver medal with 90.6%, trailing just an entire point behind the street dance champions, LPU’s Wild Style Crew, who topped the tournament with 91.6%.

 

In the Juniors’ division, the La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) Airforce brought groovy energy from San Juan to the dance floor, securing 7th place out of 10. The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Altas claimed the divison championship, with the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Layag Dance Crew placing 2nd, and the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Light Bombers Dance Troupe garnering 3rd. 

 

The winners received their respective trophies, Hawk bags, and cash prizes. The second runner-up received ₱20,000, the first runner-up received ₱30,000, and the champions received ₱50,000.
