This year’s iteration of INTERAKTIV 1.0 brought ID124 students on a journey through the cosmos and to #BenildeandBeyond. Organized by Benilde’s Student Trainers (STRAINS), the Frosh orientation event hopes to guide incoming students into the start of their college journey in Benilde.
Initially scheduled from Aug. 28 to 30 then Sept. 2 to 3, the limited face-to-face program hosted around 800 Frosh at Benilde’s Design and Arts (D+A) Campus’ 5th Floor Theater, which also allowed STRAINS to have the capacity to cater to more attendees.
A journey through the cosmos
In an interview with The Benildean, Interaktiv 1.0 Project Head and ID122 Architecture student Carmela Cablao shared some insights on the rationale of the event. Its theme “Adventure: Visions Beyond Reality,” centered around the concept of college being a new undertaking for both the Frosh and transferees looking to make their way through their college years in Benilde.
“Like the universe itself, college is vast and surreal. It takes a leap of faith to start anew. We make the greatest decisions during this phase of our lives; the choice to explore, to conquer, to dream. For the Frosh, Benilde becomes the cornerstone of what the future holds,” Cablao stated.
Persevering despite the universe’s challenges
Unfortunately, Days 1, 4, and 5 of INTERAKTIV 1.0, which were planned for Aug. 28, Sept. 2, and 3 respectively, had to be canceled due to heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Enteng. Despite this, the STRAINS remained dedicated to welcoming the ID124 students to give them a memorable experience.
But the cosmic adventure doesn't end there—for the stars continue to shine on the ID124 star cadets as they navigate the INTERAKTIV website, which will remain open until Oct. 11.
Designed to be a guide, the website contains all the necessary knowledge that all incoming Frosh and transferees would need for the start of their college journey in Benilde. CSBLIFE accreditation will also be awarded to students who complete the website’s modules before the deadline.
