The much-awaited iPhone 16 is finally here, along with the new Apple Watch and AirPods 4, as announced at the tech company’s Apple Event on Sept. 9 in Cupertino, California. Here’s a closer look at their newest offerings.

Made for intelligence

Built from the ground up for Apple Intelligence, the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus offer a more personal, private, and powerful experience. iPhone 16 boasts industry-leading durability with a display that is 50% tougher than the first generation of glass-ceramic formulation that serves as the screen’s shield.

In addition, the screen can go as bright as 2,000 nits under all conditions and can go down as low as 1 nit for darker environments.

The iPhone 16 also introduces a new button that elevates the iPhone experience called the Camera Control, which provides instant and easy access to the camera with a single click  from any orientation. Its camera is equipped with an impressive 48mp main camera, which is four times the resolution of the iPhone 14, and a 12mp 2x telephoto camera that allows users to create photos with better image quality and zero shutter lag up to 4k60 Dolby Vision HDR.

iPhone 16 also boasts the all-new A18 silicon chip that is two generations ahead of the A16 bionic of the iPhone 15. This new chip enables Apple Intelligence to bring machine learning to our fingertips. It allows users to describe a photo or video to easily find it in the new Photos app, along with advanced writing tools to change the tone of a text from professional to cordial based on recommendations. Siri also received a boost for a more natural, relevant, and personal  user experience.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are both available in Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black. The iPhone 16, with a 6.1-inch display and 128GB memory, starts at ₱54,990; while the iPhone 16 Plus, with a 6.7-inch display and 128GB memory, starts at ₱64,990.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max feature the A18 Pro chip, maximizing the seamless integration of software and hardware in a sleek and robust design. The A18 Pro outperforms many desktop chips available in the market.

Aside from the 48mp main camera, both Pro models are also equipped with a 48mp Ultra-wide camera, a 12mp 5x telephoto camera that allows users to shoot in ProRAW and HEIF photos, the ability to shoot videos at 4k120 in Dolby Vision HDR, and enhanced audio from four studio-quality microphones. The new AudioMix feature also allows users to record audio between In-Frame, Studio, and Cinematic modes.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are both available in Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Black Titanium. iPhone 16 Pro starts at ₱69,990 with 6.3-inch display and 128GB memory; while the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at ₱84,990 with 6.9-inch display with 256GB memory.

Intelligence on your wrist

Apple’s thinnest watch ever, equipped with its largest and most advanced display, is the Apple Watch Series 10.

The screen is 30% larger and 40% brighter thanks to its new wide-angle OLED display, improving its visibility on your wrist. The Series 10 is also powered by new sensors that help users better understand their health and predict diseases like sleep apnea. The translate app also made a debut on the Series 10, allowing for real-time translation with the help of machine learning and Apple Intelligence.

It is available in aluminum glossy Jet Black, Rose Gold, and Silver. The new Series 10 is also available with the following titanium finishes: Natural, Gold, and Slate. It is priced starting at ₱26,490 for the Aluminum GPS-only variant, while the Titanium GPS+Cellular variant is priced at ₱49,990.

For those who want to push their limits, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, is designed for extreme sports and adventure. The most rugged and capable Apple Watch is equipped with a 3,000 nits display and the most accurate GPS in a sports watch. It also features better sensors for a plethora of sports metrics for easier insights powered by Apple Intelligence.

Available in Natural and Black Titanium finishes, it starts at ₱54,990 for the 49mm Alpine Loop variant and ₱60,990 for the 49mm Titanium Milanese Loop version.

The all-new AirPods 4 is available for ₱8,490, while the variant with active noise cancellation is ₱11,490.

AirPods Pro 2 will get revamped this coming fall with the release of iOS 18. New features include hearing protection, a hearing test, and an FDA-approved hearing aid function for mild to moderate hearing loss which makes these earphones a highly personalized hearing aid.

The AirPods Max will also get an update with a USB-C charging port and new color options: Midnight, Blue, Purple, Orange, and Starlight. The AirPods Pro 2 starts at ₱14,990 while the AirPods Max starts at ₱32,990.
