The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Lawn Tennis Teams overwhelmed their opponents, securing clean sweeps respectively on the second day of the NCAA Lawn Tennis Tournament on Mar. 16 at the Philippine Columbian Association Sports Club in Paco, Manila.

The Benilde Blazing Netters outclassed their rivals and the defending champions, the San Beda University (SBU) Red Netters, in their first bout in the men's division of the tournament. Carlo Ubalde spearheaded the first singles match, sweeping the latter to claim the first win of the day for the Taft squad, 2-0. Gian Macaraeg and Francis Lera replicated the sweep in the doubles match as they shut out their opponents with a decisive win, 2-0. Reynielle Marcellana secured the final blow in the second singles match with a dominant performance, 2-0. The Benilde Blazing Netters defeated the San Beda University with a 3-0 sweep.

Following suit, the Benilde Lady Netters made sure to pile up on the momentum of the men’s team, demonstrating unmatched superiority in the women’s division against the Mapua University (MU) Lawn Tennis Team. Valerie Desoyo led the first singles match, outright dominating her opponent, 2-0. Daniela Dandalanin and Ghylliana Yu made quick work of their opponents with a 2-0 sweep. Kiana De Asis left no crumbs as she kept with the last singles match of the day with a 2-0 win. The Benilde Lady Netters concluded the second day with a 3-0 sweep against the Mapua University Lawn Tennis team.

The Benilde Blazing Netters will return on the lawn to face the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Lawn Tennis Team, while the Benilde Lady Netters are set to face their rivals, the San Beda University (SBU) Red Netters on Mar. 18.

The NCAA Season 99 Lawn Tennis Tournament will go on until Mar. 23 at the same venue.
