To let people enjoy the fun of arcades that they used to before, the country’s premier family entertainment center, Timezone, posted on their Facebook page last September 10 about selling their arcade “Hotshot” basketball machines and the Air Hockey sets.

"Hotshot,” the basketball machine with an automatic digital scoring system, is on sale for Php 65,000. Meanwhile, the Australian designed and manufactured game machine, "Air Hockey," which features an overhead playfield illumination with a large 4” score display is at Php 55,000. Both game machines for sale are refurbished and came from different Timezone branches all around the country. 

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Timezone Philippines said that "through the years, we have acquired a lot of game machines for people to enjoy and for several years now, we have been selling machines to allow our dear guests to enjoy these games in the comfort of their own homes, as well as to declutter a little and give space to new and exciting games that we offer."

“Not closing down anytime soon”

The post, however, caused some rumors about the possibility of Timezone shutting down all their operations due to the pandemic. Timezone PH posted on their Facebook page last Sept. 18 to assure the netizens that they are not closing. 

“Timezone FUN is still on PAUSE as mandated by the government due to the pandemic that we are all facing. All our venues are still not operational because we are not yet allowed to open but Timezone is not closing down anytime soon,” the post clarified. 

Timezone is present in more than 50 locations in the country. They are also present in Australia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
