NCAA 96: Yadao dominates flyweight division in women’s speed kicking event


Yadao claimed gold for the green and white in NCAA Season 96 Taekwondo women’s flyweight division speed kicking event earlier today, July 1.

Poomsae champion and Lady Blazer Krizelle Therese Yadao bagged another gold medal, this time in the women’s speed kicking flyweight category, earlier today, July 1, on GMA’s GTV network.

 

Kicking off the event in the women's flyweight category, Benildean Krizelle Therese Yadao finished with 7.175 points after showcasing her firm speed kicking skills. She was followed by Maria Laney Kaye Panahon from the San Beda Lady Red Jins with 6.667 points. Finishing third place was Twinkle Angela Bokingkito of San Sebastian College-Recoletos, acquiring 6.325 points, lagging only 0.342 points behind.

 

Winning the fourth place is the Arellano University Chiefs’ Paula Julia Alfon, with 6.317 points, followed by Stephanie Shane Ashley Arana of Colegio de San Juan de Letrán garnering 6.250. Meanwhile, San Beda Lady Red Jin Ria Anne Calasara, who scored 6.150 points, placed last.

 

In Yadao’s post-interview, she shared how much effort they exerted and external pressure they had to defend their title with the NCAA 96: Rise Up Stronger hosts Martin Javier and Sophia Senoron.

 

“...Kami po ‘yung champions for the past few years, [so] siyempre kailangan po namin i-defend ‘yong title namin. [So] kailangan po [na] pukpukin po namin ‘yong sarili namin na mag-training,” she added. 

 

The Lady Blazers are set to compete again in the Women’s Speed Kicking event tomorrow, July 2, at 3:00 p.m. via GMA’s GTV.
